Health Awareness Day

Last May 26, Lifeline Foundation and Healthway Medical conducted a medical outreach for the BF community. Promoting an awareness for one’s health and the need to become medically informed were the main thrusts of the day. There were free medical check-ups, ranging from blood pressure and cholesterol determination to ECG and bone density tests, and one-on-one consultations for the first 100 registrants. It was an efficient and quick operation – the start of bigger and more far-reaching medical missions.

Lifeline/Community and Healthway Medical sparked people’s awareness that day. Some people found out they were diabetic after taking a blood test. Others saw they needed more calcium intake after the bone density test. And still others were advised to stay away from eating deep-fried foods after their cholesterol determination. I’m very thankful because being informed and having early detection of a disease can help save lives.

Wow, thank you Lifeline! This activity raised my awareness about my personal health and realize that it directly affects everything I do. It’s also great to know that I can be in control and choose to eat and live well so I could get to healthy, work well and enjoy a long life!

I am concerned that many people do not care about their health. They only go see a doctor if they are feeling extreme pain and it might be too late. Early detection is important. A wise doctor told me that we must have regular check-ups and its better to find out that nothing is wrong with you than to find out too late that you are very sick. Thank you Lifeline and Healthway Medical for promoting health awareness. I hope we’ll have another one soon.

I think that this project is very helpful especially because it is for free. There are so many people out their who barely make it in their everyday lives that having a check up is no longer an option any more. That should change! YES!!!we need to start caring for our health. We need to start now..a healthy community starts with a health individual!!!

    Thank you Lifeline and Healthway.
