CHEERS TO OUR FURRY FRIENDS!
The FUN WALK WITH MY BEST FURRY FRIEND (BFF) and Pet Day Bazaar, hosted by Westgate Center, Filinvest, Animal House Vet Clinics, together with Lifeline Animal Welfare was held on November 7, 2010 from 1:00-7:30pm. Venue was the parking lot behind The Serenity Place, Westgate Center, Alabang, Muntinglupa City. This celebration was to help increase the community’s awareness and care for animals. A pet blessing at 3:30 pm started the program, then around 65 pet dogs of different breeds and ages walked with their pet owners on the main street of Westgate Center. After that, several talks from different dog experts Lestre Zapanta, dog behaviorist from Petiks, Dr. Edgar Unson from Animal House Vet Clinics, Mark Antonio and Joey Zapanta from lovepets.com were given to help promote responsible ownership. A special show was held by trainor Aldo with his poodle, Ken, who danced “Tinikling” to the delight of everyone.
The event was a treat for every feline and canine participant who came. It was a wealth of knowledge for dog and cat owners on how to take care of their own pets. There were lootbags with goodies and raffle prizes from different Lifeline Animal Welfare partners: Henkel Phils, Royal Canin, Vitality, Alpo, Ezy Dog, Rhodesian, Inc. Animal Science, Bayer, Merial, Whiskas, Agua Vida and many others. Free anti-rabies shots were also made available the whole afternoon, courtesy of Pfizer, Inc.
Lifeline Animal Welfare believes that a nation that doesn’t treat animals well will not take care of its own citizens. Hence, Lifeline Animal Welfare endeavors to help educate people the proper care of animals every chance we get. This is just one of the many projects of Lifeline Foundation Support Team, with directors Jose Luis Gonzalez and Candace Schmidt, to make a difference in our society today.
