One of Lifeline’s initiatives is our Patient of the Month program and our patient this month is 10 year old Elijah Tingzon
Elijah, age 10,is the son of public school teachers from San Isidro High School in Northern Samar. On March 21, he met an accident while riding a motorcycle, the main means of public transportation in the area. On his way home; his right slipper caught on the tire causing them to tilt over. He was rushed to the local hospital but was transferred to Cebu Doctor’s Hospital in Cebu City the next day. He had a ruptured Achilles tendon; partial open avulsed wound and infected ankle; and underwent surgery on March 23. He was scheduled for rehabilitation for seven days starting May 22, but because of Elijah’s good progress, his therapy ran for only three days. Elijah is now back home in San Isidro and is ready just in time for the start of school.
