We are filling a 20-ft container van with the following: canned goods, noodles, other foodstuff–biscuits, chocolate, bigas, clothes, tarpaulins and nails, and on Wednesday, 20 November 2013 we are heading out to Barangay Barrido, Ajuy, Iloilo (approximately 2 hours from Iloilo City). Brgy Barrido is a coastal town and most of its residents are fishermen. 90% of all structures were destroyed by Super Typhoon Yolanda. Although some aid has reached them, the most recent reports say that many in Barrido are going hungry. Much of the attention has been on Tacloban, and the need there is great, and yet, we can’t forget the other places that were badly hit by Yolanda. This is the first of Lifeline’s Yolanda Relief Aid Missions, and it won’t be the last!
