Relief Aid Missions

Our Plan of Action

It has been a week since hundreds of thousands have been devastated by Typhoon Haiyan. The images that have been on news screens have rocked the world and people are asking how can they help with the aftermath.

Relief has been slow and the frustration of those who want to help has matched the desperation of those in dire need.

Over the course of just 7 days, so much has happened and we at Lifeline have changed our initial course of action. Originally we were bagging goods to aid the DSWD, as well as collecting donations. But clearly there are problems in getting the relief to the people intended. Be it political, or the usual red tape, be it officials grandstanding or the infrastructure down and debilitated, we decided to take action on our own.

We are a small organization, and we are proud of that. We have been around for 13 years and have provided steady relief with every calamity as well as bringing empowerment to our beloved Pinoys in our different initiatives. We are small and that means we have the ability to move around quicker and we are able to bring goods directly.

We are bypassing the bottleneck and we are mobilizing our independent relief efforts to towns and areas that have been just as devastated as Tacloban but that are not getting any coverage. We are already working with the local leaders at the barangay level and have been assured that these towns are deemed safe for our teams to travel to.

Many people have been unsure of who to donate with. Many organizations have the best intentions and yet so many, too many only bring to the communities intended a mere percentage of what was donated. This has bothered us, as we know too, it has bothered you!

We have always been transparent and now we are bringing that level of transparency and accountability up even more so now. You will be able to see via pictures/videos and reports where your money went to.

Bear with us in the next few days, as our web-design team are overwhelmed with the demand of all the updates. On the website you will be seeing different organizations that we know, whose integrity has been proven, who we are proud to be partnering with. We are nowhere near the rebuilding stage, but at every stage, we are at work shoulder to shoulder with you and others like you.

This is going to be a long-term effort, and we are in this for the long haul.
